Progress

Despite not feeling the best, I got three chapters of the novella edited. Great progress! I plan to do a cover reveal this Friday or Saturday, with the blurb and possibly a release date. This is a brand new novella in the world of Isles and West and I can’t wait to share the characters and story with you!

I’m still debating the re-release date for Salt & Iron. Mainly, if I want to wait until I’ve finished writing The Scrying House or not. But I’m thinking that Salt & Iron will be out this year 🙂

Divination Won Yesterday, Too…In More Ways Than One

I tried to write a blog last night but my computer decided to take forever to update and I just barely got it running smoothly again this morning.

The Scrying House~ I added another four pages yesterday, which lined everything up for the Big Showdown. If the book keeps writing like this, I’ll have the first draft done before the end of the month! I did make notes on Tuck #4, and I think I’ll be working on both Tuck and The Scrying House this weekend.

If you’ve followed me for a good while on here, or on my other social accounts, you’ll know that I have a collection of tarot decks as well as a black scrying mirror and other divination tools. I went through my tarot decks yesterday morning and am getting rid of some that no longer serve me/I’m no longer connected to. Something just came over me, after I did a reading for myself, that led to me needing to do that. It was just time to cull the decks: I’m a different person than I was when I bought/received those decks, so it’s not surprising that I’m no longer connected to them. My personal spiritual journey shifted over the last year and a half and that has played a part as well.

So divination won yesterday- personally and as an author ❤

One Down!

Just a quick blog today to announce that I finished the first draft of Shards, Saint McGuinness book 2! I’m so excited!!! I’ll let her rest for about a week and then print out the book so I can edit long-hand. I always print the first draft because I normally spot the issues better on paper. Any revisions/edits after that are done on the computer.

But…woohoo! One story down 🙂

For Scrying Out Loud, Part 2

About five and a half pages today on The Scrying House, which finished off the chapter and leads nicely into the set-up for the Big Fight. Wicked excited to write that! I’m not certain if I’ll do an evening writing session, but I’m happy with the five and half pages I did today so if I don’t write, I’m okay with that. I may work more on revisions for another book…we shall see 🙂

For Scrying Out Loud

Yes, that blog title means I worked on The Scrying House today 🙂 The main character was pretty loud in my head, being insistent and such, so she won the “What am I working on today?” race. Tuck #4 was close in the demanding department, but ultimately, The Scrying House was louder.

Yesterday evening, I worked on revisions for the second Elvira Monk book. I’m looking forward to continuing her series. I call it my Dark Cozy Mystery, since it’s a little lighter than the rest of the Isles and West World books. She, and the secondary characters, are a lot of fun to write!

All and all, this was productive weekend for writing and promotion, and that makes me a very happy writer 🙂

Of Covers and Worlds

Got almost seven pages on Tuck today- so excited! Mostly because we’re heading into THE BIG ENDING STUFF and I can’t wait. I don’t think Tuck’s exactly happy, but I am 🙂

I received the cover files for both the novella and Salt and Iron. I also got the final files for Salt and Iron, so I will be doing a post soon for pre-order stuff as well blurb/updated book trailer.

I will make a post this weekend for the novella: cover reveal, blurb, and possible release date. I should be getting the edits back next week or so. I’m so excited to introduce this new character to you! This story is set in the Isles and West world- so many stories in that world that I’m not sure I’ll be able to write them all. But I’ll get as many out as I can!

Stay tuned- good stuff is on deck!

The Fantastical

Finished the first go-through of the fantasy short story. Lots of moving and rearranging for the content edit. Story is still the same but I was rearranging where things were so it flows better. I’m doing the second read-through today. My deadline for this edit is September 4th, so I have a little time to tighten up the story since it’s basically flash fiction- when I submitted the story it was just shy of 800 words. I’m excited about this one, and can’t wait to share more about it!

Wrote seven pages on The Scrying House yesterday as well. The main character was being extremely loud- I did two writing sessions and finished off a chapter, which brought the word count up over 16k. I’m absolutely loving this story.

I think Tuck and Saint needed a day off because both have a big action scene coming up. But both are writing so well right now that I’m 100% certain that the rough draft of both Tuck #4 and Shards will be done by the end of September…or sooner.

Next year’s submitting and publishing goals, that I set for myself, are shaping up to all be met!

Daytime Numbers

I got around 3.5k words in total from this morning until right now (5:28PM EST), which is fantastic considering I work full-time. Most of that was on Tuck #4, but about 900 words was the beginning of a new chapter for The Scrying House.

I have four books shouting at me to write them RIGHT NOW, and then another six or seven that I’m either making notes on or writing a paragraph here or there. This is normal for me, but those four books are so loud! I’m not sure which one will win tonight, after I’ve had supper and sit down for a nighttime writing session, but right now it’s either going to be Tuck #4 or The Scrying House.

I can’t type fast enough!

Not So Lazy Sunday

I honestly wasn’t certain if I would get any writing or revisions in today as I wasn’t feeling up to doing either. But, I’m happy to report that I just finished writing a chapter on Shards, the next Saint McGuinness story. If that’s all the words I get in today, I’m happy with that. I’m leaving poor Saint in a rough place, and she still has a good fight ahead of her, but I really love the chapter.

If I do go back to write, I think it will be on a different project. Most likely The Scrying House, which is a story in the Billie Shane world but with different characters.

But right now, it’s time to stretch and then get something to eat.
