Happy Saturday, my lovelies! It’s cold but sunny here at home. I did all of my outside stuff early this morning so I could stay inside, where it’s warm and cozy, and write 🙂
I’m pleased to announced that the first draft of Sera’s first book is finished! I’ve printed it out and will probably dive into edits/revisions in the next week or so. After finishing the first draft, it looks like Sera will get two more books. Her story arc won’t be complete with only two. She has a lot of baggage, to say the least, and that’s going to take some time to sift through. I’m hoping to have the first book ready to submit by the end of March.
In other writing news, Tuck is still going strong. I know what events need to happen and what the end fight will look like. Getting there will be interesting, and I can’t see that path quite as clearly at the moment. Sometimes those don’t come into focus until I’m actually writing the scene. I’m aiming to have the first draft complete by the end of April, and the way the book is writing at the moment, that is very doable.
I do have secret project going on but I don’t want to say too much right now. The book is on submission to a publisher I’ve always wanted to work with, and I’m both excited and nervous to hear the verdict. The book is part of a trilogy, and takes place within the Isles and West world. This trilogy has new characters in a new town (still in Vermont 🙂 ), and has more romance. The romance is not the main plot, but there is more of it. I’ve already started writing book two- it’s currently around 12k and going strong. I’m looking forward to being able to share the book with all of you and I think you’re really going to love the characters and setting!
In non-writing related news: I’ve finally healed enough from my surgery that I can exercise as I did before- this makes me extremely happy. My health is going to be a priority this year- from nutrition to fitness, to my overall outlook on the future. I’m looking forward to more writing, more adventures, and a wonderful year. So happy to have you all along for the ride ❤
